pencil flats trump friday five

Truth be told I actually forgot it was Friday until I thought "aha! I need to tell everyone about my pencil flats." So, sorry about that {any wonder I thrive in the stay at home mum environment? }.

I have pencil flats. They're Jeffrey Campbell from Mod Cloth and as soon as I saw them I knew I needed them. Who doesn't need pencil flats? If you want to order them and be as fabulous as me click here.

And if you do I recommend you size up. I'm usually a size 6 and I ordered a 7.5 and am so glad I did. Now I just need to find an occasion to take them out for a spin.

new buys

with 40% off at Priceline {yesterday and today} I just had to go into a store and pick up some products. The Revlon Photoready BB Cream and Australis All Over Face & Body Tint were two of the top items I wanted. And I got them - both in the lightest shades {as usual}.

If you were to ask me for my top buys {which you would, right?} at Priceline right now it would be these two. The Revlon BB Cream isn't a proper BB Cream as I see it {to me, the true BB Creams are from Asian brands} but it provides a nice, smooth finish with good coverage. Which is sometimes all you need. It also targets some of my redness around my nose which is always nice.

I've been missing MAC's Face & Body for a few months now and have contemplated handing over the $60 to buy it again. Instead I picked this up and I like it so far. MAC's Face & Body has wonderful lasting power {so much so that I was completely confident to wear it on my wedding day} and if this does too I think it will be a good comparison with its more expensive counterpart {I will update you all with the fascinating progress}.

For some reason I can't find the Revlon BB Cream on the Priceline website but it's available in store

berries & me

Today you stole my berries. You came over to me as I sat on my rocking chair at my desk in our lounge room and gave me that look. So I gave you a blackberry and you took it over to our footstool/DVD storage set it down, rolled it around and then picked it up and ate it {did that make it taste nicer?} and then repeated the process with ever increasing enthusiasm until {let's face facts} you devoured almost the entire bowl. But how could I say no?

For some reason your hair got tousled in the ensuing excitement of berry stealing. Also, I had to take your pants off and then your shirt. I asked you to say "berries" the second time you came back and you did despite never saying the word before. It's amazing that you're at the stage where I can ask you to say something and you will, tolerance and listening powers allowing, repeat it back to me.

P.S - I promise to let you steal my berries even when you're grown

nap time craving

Let's discuss my incessant need to own things even though I just purchased new shoes from Mimco. Actually, lets not even go there.

Suffice it to say I need these flats. I mean, who doesn't need mouse flats?

And Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats no less. From where else but Shopbop which has become a ridiculously dangerous online spot for me.

I also feel like this needs to be mine. As well as this.

Friday Five

I apologise for being so absent lately. For some reason I've actually had no time to do any writing which is something that rarely happens. I've been busy with wonderful, and much needed, family time but I'm back with a Friday Five post. This week I've been massively obsessed with watches, even more so than usual. I'm a big Fossil fan and even though they're basically the same as Michael Kors designs I feel a large desire to own a MK {a Marc Jacobs would be nice too} so I've been trawling Shopbop for something that can become mine.

Number 4 is my favourite. With rose gold, gold and silver watches in my collection I'm lusting after something simpler that works for day to day.

things i want bailey to know

*sorry for the non-beauty related posts. I still have no proper Internet and it's been a bit impossible to post anything lately. I didn't know hate until I had to deal with TPG and Telstra and everyone else's hopelosity.

Dear Bailey - here are some things that I want you to know as you continue to grow in this world

1. You are amazing
2. You are beautiful as is everyone else.
3. Don't try and be anyone else. Be yourself.
4. When it comes to eyebrow grooming please don't do it yourself. Come to me {or your Dad} and we'll take you to a professional. This I feel very strongly about.
5. It's okay to take pride in your appearance if it makes you happy.
6. I love you. No matter what.
7. If you ever need any help you can always come to me. It doesn't matter if you're 8, 18 or 80. I'll always be here for you.
8. Don't be afraid to admit your mistakes and when you do I won't judge you for them.
9. When you were young, no matter what you did, a hug from you would always make it better. It always will
10. Don't be afraid. To love. To cry. To dance. To laugh. Never let fear stop you.

Random March Favourites

Yesterday I highlighted my March beauty favourites {find that post here} and today, to finish up my monthly favourites posts, I wanted to share a random assortment of stuff that I've loved this month from favourite fragrance and read to favourite YouTube channel and song {and everything else in between}. This month was really difficult for me. We moved house and I found myself feeling like I wasn't allowed to be sad about Minnie anymore. Nobody has said otherwise but I feel like people expect it to be all better now. I hate that feeling. I hate this constant feeling of needing one last hug from her. I hate feeling like nobody will ever love me as much as it felt like she did. While this month hasn't been the best {I've been a terribly grumpy person} I have enjoyed some things. So here goes...

Favourite Read: I don't think I actually read any books this month. When I found myself really down I did pick up Truman Capote's Summer Crossing and read my favourite passages.

Favourite Blog: Love Taza {The Rockstar Diaries} - I just adore the content

Favourite Song: this month I have two: We've Got Tonight and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go

Favourite TV Show: New Girl. I can't tell you how happy I am that Nick and Jess have finally semi-gotten together.

Favourite Movie: Bachelorette. I have to say this movie did make me a tad uncomfortable but it was hilarious and I loved it much more than Bridesmaids.

Favourite YouTube Channel: makeuploverusa. I love this lady and have to say for some reason I'm always drawn to people who are older than me.

Favourite Fragrance: it's still Dot by Marc Jacobs. This scent makes me happier than any other.

Favourite House-y Product: I got this product in the last days of March but I couldn't not put it. It's that good. Name: Homedics Ultimate Foot and Calf Massager. It's from Harvey Norman and it's $269 and it's the best money I have ever spent. Ever. I didn't even think my calves needed to be massaged until they were and quickly realised what I had been missing. It soothes my constantly aching feet and I shan't go another day without it.

Favourite Beverage: I've gotten back into coffee after not drinking it for 3 years. I limit myself to 1 or 2 cups per day and leave it simple. I still can't stomach regular coffee so it has to be flavoured.

Favourite Eats: anything involving chocolate and mint together.

Favourite Pin: on grief.

Favourite Find: this cake

Favourite Moments: I only have one... waking up to find Bailey in bed curled up next me and to find she'd been that way for ages {Husband took her into bed with us}

March Favourites

Missha BB Cream - works perfect alone or as a primer. Super hydrating {maybe, at times, too glowy} and has wonderful coverage
Australis Gloss Stick - favourite colour is 'Fairy Floss'. These are surprisingly hydrating and don't try out my lips. They do bleed a bit but with some blotting it doesn't bother me
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara - this curls quite wonderfully and doesn't leave smudges
Schwarzkopf Instant Volume Powder - provides my hair with some much needed volume but using it means I do need to wash my hair more often
Sanctuary Time Reversal Mask - really hydrating and just lovely to wear/use
NARS Eyelash Curler - using this was weird at first because it doesn't have the springs that most cheap eyelash curlers have. At first I thought that was a bad thing but I soon came to learn that not having the massive spring means it doesn't break/tear my lashes. It provides a long lasting curl and I love it.
